Hello everyone. My mom, Zen Jen, found an article this week about scientists making discoveries that plastic used for many objects can made from plants instead of harmful chemicals.
She suggested that I should post the website for all of you to read.
The biggest information that I learned from the article is that most of the waste being buried in landfills is actually plastic from water bottles. This isn't a good idea at all to burn so much plastic because it releases so many toxic chemicals into the air and about less than 20% of all the plastic waste is recycled, which isn't enough.
Good news is that some plastics are being made out of different materials, such as corn and plants to keep from wasting oil to make the harmful plastic. This is a great article to read and so much to learn from it, so be sure to read it and find bottles that are using healthy materials, instead of ones made from companies like Dasani.
